High Quality Pediatric Dental Care for Kids of All Ages
When it comes to dental care for your child, you may find yourself asking, “When should I take my child to the dentist?” or perhaps even “What is a pediatric dentist?” At Dallas Fort Worth Children’s Dental Network, we’re here to help! Dallas Fort Worth Children’s Dental Network is proud to be a trusted resource to parents throughout the metroplex in all things relating to pediatric dentistry. Our pediatric dentists have two to three years of specialty training after dental school to prepare them to meet the unique needs of your child. Just as pediatricians are trained to oversee your child’s medical needs, our pediatric dentists are uniquely qualified to care for your child’s oral health.
At DFW CDN, we are dedicated to supporting your children in all of their dental needs at every stage of adolescence.
TYPES OF TREATMENT
According to the American Association of Orthodontists, children should have their first orthodontic checkup with a specialist no later than age 7. This allows the orthodontist to spot any jaw growth and emerging teeth issues before they become a problem. Early treatment may prevent more serious problems from developing and can cut treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated.
Teeth cleanings and dental exams
Working with you, our highly trained pediatric dentists will teach your child how to effectively brush and floss while monitoring their teeth for any signs of decay.
Sealants and fluoride
Dental sealants are thin, protective coatings a dentist places on the chewing surfaces of your child’s molars (back teeth). They fill the deep grooves that are hard for children to properly clean by brushing. In some instances, your child’s dentist may use a fluoride varnish to help prevent tooth decay or stop it from getting worse.
